IPL 2025: When is GT’s Next Match? All you need to know about their Opponent, Probable XI, & head-to-head stats

Gujarat Titans (GT), at one stage, were the favourites to finish the IPL 2025 league stage at the top of the table. However, after suffering back-to-back defeats against Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) and Chennai Super Kings (CSK), they eventually finished the league stage in third place with 18 points from 14 games and a net run rate of +0.254. 

Now, they are set to play the Eliminator against Mumbai Indians (MI) on 30 May in Mullanpur. MI finished the league stage in fourth place with 16 points from 14 games and a net run rate of +1.142.

GT Probable XI 

Shubman Gill (capt), Kusal Mendis (wk), Sherfane Rutherford, M Shahrukh Khan, Rashid Khan, Gerald Coetzee, Rahul Tewatia, Mohammed Siraj, R Sai Kishore, Arshad Khan, M Prasidh Krishna.

Sai Sudharsan is expected to be the impact substitute as GT will continue with their opening pair of Sudharsan and skipper Shubman Gill. Jos Buttler will not be available for them in the playoffs, as he is set to join England’s squad for international commitments. 

Hence, the franchise has already announced that they have acquired the services of Sri Lanka star Kusal Mendis as a replacement for Buttler, and he is expected to be in the playing XI as the wicketkeeper-batter.

Following him, Sherfane Rutherford will be there along with Shahrukh Khan. Despite a poor season so far, Rashid Khan will be included, along with another all-round option in the form of Coetzee. Rahul Tewatia will be expected to perform well as a finisher.

The three pacers will be Siraj, Arshad, and Prasidh Krishna. The lone spinner will be Sai Kishore, but the entire bowling unit must perform better than what they have delivered in the last three games.

In the seven IPL matches played so far between these two sides, GT have shown dominance with five wins, while MI have won twice. In the league stage of the ongoing season, GT defeated MI on both occasions.
