The defending champions, Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR), are out of the playoff race in IPL 2025, as their last game against Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) in Bengaluru was called off due to heavy rain on 17 May.
It was a must-win clash for them to stay alive in the playoff race, but with one point awarded to each team, KKR are now knocked out of the tournament with 12 points from 13 games and a net run rate of +0.193, currently sitting in sixth place.
They now have only one game left in the group stage this season, where they will face Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) in Delhi on 25 May. SRH are also already eliminated, with just seven points from 11 games, currently sitting in eighth place.
