Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) suffered a thumping eight-wicket loss to Delhi Capitals (DC) in Lucknow in their last game of the ongoing IPL 2025. Hence, they are now struggling in fifth spot with 10 points in nine games, at a net run rate of -0.054.
With five matches to go in the league stage, LSG might look to win their remaining matches as many as possible to get a smooth entry into the playoffs. But, for that, they need to step up their game under the leadership of Rishabh Pant, and LSG fans will hope that their team put up an impressive performance in their next game against the Mumbai Indians (MI) at the iconic Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai.
MI are also looking to push their case for the playoffs, currently sitting in the sixth spot with eight points in eight games, at a net run rate of +0.483. In the reverse fixture this season, LSG defeated MI by 12 runs in Lucknow.
Match details
Fixture: Mumbai Indians vs Lucknow Super Giants
Date & Time: April 27, 2025, 3:30 PM IST

LSG are expected to go with the same opening pair of Aiden Markram and Mitchell Marsh. Both of them have been consistent and have added some crucial runs at the top. Followed by that, Nicholas Pooran will be key for them, but he has been struggling in the last few games.
Hence, fans will hope for him to be back in form against MI. Then, eyes will be on skipper Rishabh Pant because as a batter, his contribution would be needed along with the power-hitters, Abdul Samad and David Miller.
Two spinners are expected to be Digvesh Rathi and Ravi Bishnoi. Shardul Thakur, Avesh Khan, and Prince Yadav will be the three pace bowling options for Pant. Ayush Badoni is expected to be the impact player.
