IPL 2025: When is LSG’s Next Match? All you need to know about their Opponent, Probable XI, & head-to-head stats

Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) are still very much in the race for the playoffs in the ongoing IPL 2025 despite losing their last game against Mumbai Indians (MI). They are currently placed sixth with 10 points and a net run rate of -0.325 after 10 games. 

Every match from here on will be crucial for LSG if they want to secure a playoff spot. Their next challenge is a big one as they face the in-form Punjab Kings (PBKS) in Dharamsala. PBKS have been performing steadily this season and are sitting in fifth place with 11 points from nine games, holding a net run rate of +0.177.

Aiden Markram, Mitchell Marsh, Nicholas Pooran, Rishabh Pant (capt & wk), Ayush Badoni, Abdul Samad, Mayank Yadav, Ravi Bishnoi, Digvesh Rathi, Avesh Khan, Prince Yadav.

Despite the loss against the Mumbai Indians (MI), LSG are unlikely to make any significant changes to their playing XI. Aiden Markram and Mitchell Marsh are set to continue opening the innings, followed by Nicholas Pooran at number three and skipper Rishabh Pant at number four. 

Ayush Badoni and Abdul Samad are expected to play the finisher roles, while David Miller remains a strong option and is most likely to be used as the impact substitute. Mayank Yadav, who made a comeback in the last match and picked up key wickets of Rohit Sharma and MI skipper Hardik Pandya, is also expected to retain his place. 

Dropping him after just one game would be harsh. To support him, Avesh Khan and Prince Yadav will continue as pace options. In the spin department, Ravi Bishnoi and Digvesh Rathi remain the main choices.            

Head-to-Head record   

Only five IPL games have been played between these two sides so far. LSG have won three times, while PBKS have managed two victories. However, in the reverse fixture earlier this season, PBKS defeated LSG by eight wickets in Lucknow. Now, PBKS have the chance to complete a league double over LSG if they manage another win on 1 May.
