Mumbai Indians (MI) are the new table-toppers in the ongoing IPL 2025 after defeating Rajasthan Royals (RR) by 100 runs in their last match. It marked their sixth consecutive win in this campaign. With 14 points from 11 games and a net run rate of +1.274, they now look like strong favourites to finish the group stage at the top.

Next, they will face Gujarat Titans (GT) on 6 May at the iconic Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai, in front of their home crowd. GT have also been one of the in-form teams this season and are currently placed fourth with 12 points from nine games and a net run rate of +0.748.

MI have won all of their last six games consecutively in the ongoing IPL 2025, and as a result, it is unlikely they will make any changes to their settled playing XI. Rohit Sharma and Ryan Rickelton are expected to open the innings, with Will Jacks at number three. 

Suryakumar Yadav has been consistent at the number four position, followed by skipper Hardik Pandya at number five. Tilak Varma will also feature in the middle order, while Naman Dhir has been impressive in his new role at number seven.

At number eight, Corbin Bosch is likely to retain his spot. The three pacers—Deepak Chahar, Trent Boult, and Jasprit Bumrah—will lead the pace attack. As an impact player, Karn Sharma is expected to come into play, possibly leading the spin bowling unit alongside Jacks.
