Mumbai Indians' (MI) IPL 2025 campaign has been disappointing so far, with two losses in two games. First, they lost to Chennai Super Kings (CSK) in Chennai, and then they suffered another defeat against Gujarat Titans (GT) in Ahmedabad. After these two losses, MI sits at the bottom of the table with a net run rate of -1.882. Now, in search of their first win of the season, MI will face the defending champions, Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR), on 31 March in Mumbai. Whether their fortunes will turn in front of the home crowd remains to be seen.

With two points, they are currently in the seventh spot with a net run rate of -0.308. In these two matches, several batters, including skipper Ajinkya Rahane and wicketkeeper-batter Quinton de Kock, have stepped up with vital knocks. 

However, the main strength has been their spinners, especially with the way they bowled against RR in Guwahati. Whether it was Varun Chakravarthy or Moeen Ali, spin has been the go-to weapon for Rahane so far.
