Royal Challengers Bengaluru did the league double over CSK as they defeated MS Dhoni’s side by two runs in Bengaluru. They are now the table toppers once again with 16 points from 11 games and a net run rate of +0.482.

Their main aim now will be to finish the league stage in the top two spots. Next, they will face Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) in their upcoming clash in Lucknow on 9 May. LSG are currently in sixth place with 10 points from 10 games and a net run rate of -0.325.

Match details

Fixture: Lucknow Super Giants vs Royal Challengers Bengaluru
Date & Time: May 9, 2025, 7:30 PM IST
Venue: Bharat Ratna Shri Atal Bihari Vajpayee Ekana Cricket Stadium, Lucknow

RCB Probable XI

Jacob Bethell, Virat Kohli, Devdutt Padikkal, Rajat Patidar, Romario Shepherd, Jitesh Sharma (wk), Tim David, Krunal Pandya, Bhuvneshwar Kumar, Lungi Ngidi, Yash Dayal.

Considering the current form and momentum, it is expected that RCB might continue with the same playing XI. Jacob Bethell played an impressive knock against CSK and he would continue to open the innings with Virat Kohli.

Kohli is currently the Orange Cap holder after scoring another fifty against CSK. The next three batters will be Padikkal, skipper Patidar, and Jitesh. The two finishers will be Tim David and Romario Shepherd. Romario smashed the second-fastest IPL fifty against CSK and eventually won the Player of the Match award.

Krunal Pandya has been one of the top performers so far for RCB. The three pacers will be Bhuvneshwar Kumar, Lungi Ngidi, and Yash Dayal. Suyash Sharma is most likely to be the impact sub, as he will be another spin bowling option along with Pandya and Bethell.
