IPL 2025: When is RCB’s Next Match?

Royal Challengers Bengaluru’s (RCB) hopes of securing a top-two finish in the IPL 2025 league stage suffered a blow after their 42-run loss to Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) in Lucknow. Following this defeat, RCB slipped to third place on the points table with 17 points from 13 matches and a net run rate of +0.255.

Their final league fixture is against the Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) on May 27 at the same venue. Although LSG are out of the playoff race — currently placed sixth with 12 points from 13 games — RCB cannot afford to take them lightly. For RCB, a win in their last match could be crucial to securing a top-two finish, which would give them two opportunities to qualify for the final via Qualifier one.

Match details

Fixture: Lucknow Super Giants vs Royal Challengers Bengaluru
Date & Time: May 27, 2025, 7:30 PM IST
Venue: Bharat Ratna Shri Atal Bihari Vajpayee Ekana Cricket Stadium, Lucknow

RCB Probable XI

Phil Salt, Virat Kohli, Mayank Agarwal, Jitesh Sharma (capt, wk), Romario Shepherd, Tim David, Krunal Pandya, Bhuvneshwar Kumar, Yash Dayal, Lungi Ngidi, Suyash Sharma.

Both RCB openers, Phil Salt and Virat Kohli, were in fine form during the last match. They provided the team with a strong and much-needed start in their chase of 231, though their efforts ultimately went in vain. The duo will once again be expected to deliver at the top against Lucknow Super Giants (LSG).

Mayank Agarwal is likely to be given another opportunity in the XI. Meanwhile, regular captain Rajat Patidar, who did not feature in the starting lineup due to a finger injury on his right hand, played as an impact substitute in the previous game. He is expected to continue in that role, with Jitesh Sharma stepping in as the stand-in skipper.

Power-hitting duties will be shared by Romario Shepherd and Tim David. Krunal Pandya will play as the spin-bowling all-rounder, with Bhuvneshwar Kumar, Yash Dayal, and Lungi Ngidi leading the pace attack. Suyash Sharma will be the second spin option in the lineup.
