IPL 2025: When is RCB’s Next Match?

The stage is set in Mullanpur, where Qualifier One of the ongoing IPL 2025 will take place between Punjab Kings (PBKS) and Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) on 29 May. RCB won a high-scoring thriller in Lucknow against Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) in the last league-stage game to seal their place in Qualifier One.

As a result, PBKS finished the league stage at the top with 19 points from 14 games and a net run rate of +0.372, while RCB finished in second place with 19 points from 14 games and a net run rate of +0.301.

Match details

Fixture: Punjab Kings vs Royal Challengers Bengaluru
Date & Time: May 29, 2025, 7:30 PM IST
Venue: Maharaja Yadavindra Singh International Cricket Stadium, Mullanpur

RCB Probable XI

Phil Salt, Virat Kohli, Mayank Agarwal, Liam Livingstone, Jitesh Sharma (C and wk), Romario Shepherd, Krunal Pandya, Bhuvneshwar Kumar, Yash Dayal, Josh Hazlewood, Suyash Sharma.

Salt and Kohli are expected to continue as their opening pair. This pair provided a brisk start while chasing 228 in the last game vs LSG. Kohli has already smashed eight fifties, and he is expected to continue that form. Their regular skipper, Rajat Patidar, is expected to come in as an impact substitute.

Mayank Agarwal also showed his experience in the last game with the bat. Livingstone had a failure, but with Tim David still injured, it is expected that Livingstone will be given another chance. Jitesh Sharma will be the skipper and the in-form wicketkeeper-batter, who played an unbelievable knock vs LSG, winning the Player of the Match award.

Krunal Pandya and Suyash Sharma will be their spin bowling options, while Pandya will be expected to contribute significantly with the bat as well. The three pacers most likely to play are Bhuvneshwar, Dayal, and Josh Hazlewood.

Although Hazlewood did not play the last game, if he is fit enough, he is expected to replace Nuwan Thushara in the playing XI. Thushara bowled brilliantly in the last game, and it will be a harsh call to drop him, but based on experience, the Aussie pacer is expected to replace him if fit.
