Gujarat Titans (GT) had an impressive IPL 2025 campaign, finishing third in the points table after the league stage. In 14 games, they won nine and secured 18 points. At one stage, they looked like strong contenders to finish in the top two, but eventually had to settle for the Eliminator clash.
Unfortunately, their journey ended there, as the Mumbai Indians (MI) knocked them out. Throughout the season, several players shone under Shubman Gill’s captaincy, especially the batting trio of Gill, Sai Sudharsan, and Jos Buttler. However, some players failed to live up to expectations despite having vast experience and potential.
Here are the 5 GT Players who might be released ahead of the mini auction
1. Ishant Sharma
This veteran Indian pacer had a forgettable IPL 2025 season. Gujarat Titans showed faith in his experience by giving him seven games, but he managed to take only four wickets at an economy rate of 11.18.
Considering his form and age, the franchise is most likely to release him ahead of the 2026 season. They may instead look for younger options who can bowl effective and impactful spells at any stage of the game.
2. Karim Janat
GT played this Afghanistan all-rounder in only one game during the 2025 IPL season. He did not get a chance to bat in that match but had a horrible outing with the ball. Janat bowled just one over and was smashed for 30 runs against the Rajasthan Royals (RR) in Jaipur.
Featuring in only that game, and with such a poor performance, ensured GT lost faith in him completely. As a result, ahead of IPL 2026, Janat might be released by the franchise.
3. Kulwant Khejroliya
Kulwant Khejroliya, the left-arm pacer, also played only one game in IPL 2025 for GT. In that match, he bowled three overs against RR in Ahmedabad and conceded 29 runs at an economy of 9.66, while also picking up a wicket.
Once again, selecting him for just one match showed how little faith the franchise had in him, and that could lead to his release ahead of the next season.
4. Gerald Coetzee
Coetzee is one of the most exciting pace-bowling all-rounders in world cricket. However, he had a poor IPL 2025, especially with the ball. In four innings, he managed only two wickets at an economy of 10.91. With the bat, he scored 17 runs in two innings. Hence, considering him as an overseas option, it might be possible that GT will look to release him and go for another option.
5. Arshad Khan
GT showed a lot of faith in this left-arm pacer from India, Arshad Khan. He ended up playing nine games in IPL 2025. In those games, he bagged six wickets at an economy of 10.33. With the bat, he scored 23 runs in five innings.
However, with such performances across nine games, it is most likely that he will be released by the franchise ahead of the 2026 season, considering the other available options.
