Karun Nair’s wife, Sanaya Tankariwala, took to Instagram story to pen a heartfelt note for her husband as the Vidarbha batter made his comeback to the Indian playing XI after a long gap of eight years against England in the first Test at Headingley, Leeds.
After losing the toss, India was tasked to bat first on Day 1 of the Leeds Test. While Karun Nair made his comeback to the XI, Sai Sudharsan was handed his Test debut at No.3. Notably, this will be the first Test as full-time captain for Shubman Gill.
It’s important to note that India is playing for the first time after the retirements of Virat Kohli and Rohit Sharma from the longest format of the game in the transitional phase. While Gill has been named captain, Rishabh Pant will act as his deputy.
“Goosebumps every time I hear the Indian national anthem. And this one’s all the more special,” Sanaya wrote on her Instagram story.

Importantly, Karun proposed to Sanaya in 2019 in Goa before the couple tied the knot in January 2020 in a grand wedding ceremony in Udaipur. Karun and Sanaya are proud parents to two children, a son named Kayaan and a daughter named Samara.
Team India would be aiming for its first-ever Test series win since 2007 after drawing the previous Test tour to England in 2021-22 by 2-2.
