KCL 2025: Sanju Samson hits yet another fifty-plus score ahead of Asia Cup 2025

In an interesting turn of events, Kochi Blue Tigers' opening batter Sanju Samson scored yet another match-winning half-century for his franchise in the ongoing Kerala Cricket League 2025 season.

Moving into the details of his knock, on Sunday, August 31, Samson accumulated 83 runs in 41 balls with two fours and nine sixes at a strike rate of 202.44 against Alleppey Ripples. His knock lifted the Tigers to seal victory in 18.2 overs with three wickets remaining.

It was Samson’s fourth consecutive fifty-plus score as an opener in the campaign. While he initiated the season with a 121-run knock off 51 balls as an opening batter, he later scored 89 runs off 46 balls and 62 runs off 37 balls to display his dominance.

Currently, Samson is the second-leading run-scorer of the KCL 2025 campaign, amassing 368 runs from five innings at an average of 73.6 and a strike rate of 186.8 with 24 fours and 30 sixes.

Delving into the details of the national T20I team, Abhishek Sharma is in line to open the innings in the Asia Cup 2025 campaign with the new vice-captain, Shubman Gill. Unfortunately, Samson is likely to be benched or dropped down to the middle-order.

Speaking about Samson’s last year’s stats, he accumulated 436 runs in 12 innings at an average of 43.60, with a strike rate of 180.16, including three centuries and a fifty. Nevertheless, he is most likely to lose his opening spot for the upcoming continental event.
