“No more home Tests in India” - Kris Srikkanth jokes India should play all its Tests in neutral venues

Following India's 0-2 home Test series whitewash against South Africa, Kris Srikkanth sarcastically advised the BCCI: "No more home Tests in India," suggesting they play all matches in England to end the slump. The comment is a dig at Gambhir's defense of the team.

Former Indian selector Kris Srikkanth has slammed the Indian head coach Gautam Gambhir after the Indian Test team suffered a 0-2 whitewash to South Africa at home. Notably, this was India’s second consecutive Test series whitewash at home to a SENA nation after earlier losing to New Zealand by 0-3 last year.

Speaking exclusively on his YouTube channel, Srikkanth asserted that while the Kolkata surface was uneven and ended within the three days, he questioned the Indian team’s approach on a flat wicket like Guwahati as the match went to the fifth and final day.

"Now the problem is you are getting caught on spinning tracks and regular fast-bowling tracks. What do they want now? In Kolkata, he said this was the kind of track they wanted. Fine. The pitch in Guwahati was a good batting pitch. Nothing wrong with it. Simon Harmer bowled beautifully," Srikkanth said on his YouTube channel.

Furthermore, the former Indian selector joked that India should play all of its games on neutral venues to improve their Test record, as they have been suffering losses at home, of late. It’s worth noting that India is currently under transition after the retirements of Virat Kohli, Rohit Sharma and Ravi Ashwin.

"I have a good idea for India to do well. India should play in neutral venues. All Test matches of India should be played in England. There, you get capacity crowds. Indians can plan holidays to the UK and go and watch the matches. You said Indians did very well in England, so they will do well again. No more home Tests in India,” he concluded.

India will next take on South Africa in the three-match ODI series, starting on Sunday, November 30, in Ranchi. Later, their focus will shift to the five-match T20I series against South Africa.
