“Don’t get out on 37” - Kris Srikkanth offers a piece of advice to Sanju Samson

Former Indian cricketer Kris Srikkanth has offered a piece of advice to the Indian keeper-batter Sanju Samson, stating that he has to convert his 30s and 40s in the shortest format of the game to not get dropped from the XI.

Samson, who made a comeback to the XI in the fifth T20I, replacing Shubman Gill, went on to score 37 runs in 22 balls with four fours and two sixes at a strike rate of 168.18. Speaking on his YouTube channel, the former cricketer asserted that Samson should convert his 37 to 73 next time around.

“He batted really well. What an innings it was. Some of the strokes he played were brilliant. When he is striking, he is striking deadly. Only thing I will tell Sanju is, don’t get out on 37. Convert that 37 into 73. If you do that, you can’t be removed. People forget 30s and 40s,” Kris Srikkanth said on his YouTube channel.

“Sanju Samson got one chance and he grabbed it in yesterday’s match. I think they might have told him [Gill] yesterday that you don’t play. Maybe that’s why he was declared unfit. They might have told him that he’s not in the team,” he added.

Furthermore, Srikkanth heaped praise on the Indian all-rounder Hardik Pandya, who scored 63 runs in 25 balls with five fours and as many sixes at a strike rate of 252. Additionally, he felt that if Suryakumar Yadav finds form, the Indian team would be a devastating batting line-up.

“He [Pandya] was batting like ‘Mission Impossible’. It was just outstanding to watch him bat. If you look at the top five, if Suryakumar Yadav hits form, this batting line-up will destroy opponents. It is an intimidating and devastating batting line-up,” he concluded.
