Former India chief selector Kris Srikkanth has slammed the Indian team management and selection committee, led by Ajit Agarkar, for including the Delhi all-rounder Ayush Badoni as Washington Sundar’s replacement in the ongoing ODI series against New Zealand.

Speaking on his YouTube channel, Srikkanth called the decision to include Badoni “absolutely unfair” and alleged favouritism in the selection process, adding that his domestic record hasn’t been up to the mark to make it to the Indian team.

“With this kind of performance, he had no chance of selection,” Kris Srikkanth said on his YouTube channel.

“For some, you are told to score runs. But for some, you are picked even if you don’t do anything,” he added.

“Can anyone remind me of one significant knock? He can’t take the match away from you,” he stated.

“Just because he took three wickets in a game, you’re calling him an all-rounder. Has anyone even seen him bowl there?” he questioned.

He further called it “absolutely unfair” that Ruturaj Gaikwad was left out despite scoring a century in the previous ODI series. “What sin did he commit?” he asked. He also questioned why Axar Patel was ignored.

“I think he played for LSG, had a mentor there, and that’s why he is in the team now,” he observed.
