“He is an absolute superstar” - Michael Clarke predicts top run-scorer in India vs Australia T20I series

Former Australian captain and commentator Michael Clarke has stated that the Indian opening explosive batter Abhishek Sharma can play in all three formats for the Indian team in the near future. 

Speaking exclusively on the Beyond23 Cricket Podcast, Clarke asserted that Abhishek would be ending the five-match T20I series as the leading run-scorer against Australia, starting on Wednesday, October 29, at Manuka Oval in Canberra.

Furthermore, Clarke also heaped praise on Abhishek, stating that he is an absolute superstar in the shortest format of the game, performing very well for the Sunrisers Hyderabad franchise in the IPL and taking his form to international cricket.

"I'm gonna go with Abhishek Sharma. Now, I think he's ready to play all three formats for India. It's hard, you can only fit 11 players in and 6 batters in, but I reckon he is an absolute superstar in this format. He's performed very well for Sunrisers Hyderabad in the IPL, but I reckon he just needs a chance to shine in international cricket,' Clarke said on the Beyond23 Cricket podcast.

"Opens the batting, left-hander, got all the shots. I can't wait to watch him play. So I think, I think he'll be the leading run scorer in the series," he added.

It’s important to note that Abhishek Sharma has played 24 T20Is, scoring a total of 849 runs. He has two centuries and five fifties under his name so far at an explosive strike-rate of 196.07. Also, the dashing opening batter would be aiming to reach the 1000-run mark in T20Is in the upcoming Australia series.
