Former England captain and commentator, Michael Vaughan, has selected the combined XI after the successful completion of the Anderson-Tendulkar Trophy between England and India on English soil.

Notably, India ended the five-match Test series against England with the series levelled at 2-2. Vaughan, who is known for his exceptional game knowledge, has selected his strongest combined XI from the series, with Ben Stokes leading the XI.

Moving into the details, Indian opener KL Rahul gets to open the innings with Ben Duckett, the man in form throughout the series. While Rahul scored 532 runs from 10 innings at 53.2, Duckett accumulated 462 runs from nine innings at an average of 51.33.

Moving further, Yashasvi Jaiswal, who scored the second innings century at the Oval, has been part of the XI at the No.3 slot. Jaiswal amassed 411 runs from 10 innings at an average of 41.1 with two centuries and as many fifties.

Joe Root, the former England captain, occupies the No.4 spot as he scored 537 runs from nine innings at an average of 67.12 with three centuries and a fifty. Indian captain Shubman Gill took up the fifth spot as he ended the series as the leading run-scorer, amassing 754 runs at 75.4 with three centuries and a double century.

Rishabh Pant takes up the keeping duties, with Ben Stokes taking up the captaincy role. While Pant accumulated 479 runs from seven innings at 68.42, Stokes racked up 304 runs from seven innings at 43.42. Moreover, Stokes pocketed 17 wickets from eight innings.

Ravindra Jadeja (516 runs) is the sole spinner in the XI with Jasprit Bumrah (14), Mohammed Siraj (23), and Josh Tongue (19) forming the pace battery in Vaughan’s line-up.
