Former Pakistani speedster Mohammad Amir took to his X (formerly Twitter) handle to share an old image involving the Indian batting stalwart Virat Kohli gifting him a bat before the start of the ICC T20 World Cup 2016.

Notably, right when Amir made a comeback after completing his ban period in the spot-fixing scandal, the Indian star batter supported the pacer. In his tweet, Amir captioned, "One thing is for sure, Virat is the best player and human being in Indian cricket history. Respect."

With his tweet, it is clear that Amir is aiming to take a brutal dig at the Indian T20I players, who decided not to shake hands with the Pakistani cricketers after their dominant seven-wicket win in the group stage game against Pakistan.

Interestingly, this decision from the Indian team didn’t go down well with the Pakistan skipper, Salman Ali Agha, who decided not to attend the post-match presentation ceremony against Team India.

"We were ready to shake hands at the end of the game, we obviously are disappointed that our opposition didn't do that. We sort of went over there to shake hands and they'd already gone into the changing room,” Mike Hesson said after the India game.

"That was a disappointing way for the match to finish, and a match we were disappointed for the way we played, but we were certainly willing to shake hands,” he added.

Team India T20I captain Suryakumar Yadav has made it clear that they came to the UAE to play the game, and it was a collective team call not to shake hands with the opposition players, adding that a few things in life are ahead of sportsmanship.

"Few things in life are ahead of sportsman spirit also. I've [said] it at the presentation as well, we stand with all the victims of Pahalgam terror attacks, stand with their families, and express our solidarity,” Suryakumar said after the Pakistan game.
