Mohammed Shami breaks the silence on his marriage with Hasin Jahan

Veteran Indian pacer Mohammed Shami broke his silence on married life with his estranged wife, Hasin Jahan. For the unversed, Shami got married to Jahan in 2014. Unfortunately, four years later, the couple got separated.

Jahan publicly spoke against Shami on news channels and social media handles, asserting that Shami is a womanizer. Interestingly, Jahan also accused Shami and his family of physical and mental torture before the couple got separated. 

Now, speaking candidly on News24, Shami has made it clear that his current focus is on his game and he doesn’t want to be a part of any new controversies, adding that he doesn’t want to blame anyone, including himself.

"Leave that. I never regret the past. What's gone is gone. I don't want to blame anyone, including myself. I want to focus on my cricket. I don't need these controversies,” Shami said to News24.

It’s worth noting that the former Indian opener Shikhar Dhawan and spinner Yuzvendra Chahal are the other Indian cricketers to get divorced recently. When asked about the disputes Dhawan and Chahal had with their respective partners, Shami commented that he doesn’t want to be part of any more controversies. 

"That's your job to investigate. Why do you want to hang us to death? Look at the other side as well. I focus on cricket, not controversies."

Shami is currently playing for the East Zone in the Duleep Trophy 2025-26 campaign. Prior to this, his last professional game was for the Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) on May 2 in the IPL 2025 season.

Also, Shami stated that he has already cleared the newly introduced Bronco Test at the BCCI Centre of Excellence in Bengaluru, and he is eager to play all three formats for India whenever he makes a comeback.
