Mohammed Siraj deserves to put on some swim shorts and go to a beach for a few weeks: Stuart Broad

Indian pacer Mohammed Siraj, who is leading the wickets column in the ongoing England series with 19 scalps from five matches, got a lot of praise from the former England pacer and commentator Stuart Broad for his exceptional efforts throughout the tour.

Siraj, while speaking on Sky Sports Cricket, stated that Siraj deserves to take a long break and go to a beach for a few weeks, especially after what he has done throughout the five matches of the series.

Interestingly, Siraj is the lone pacer to play all five matches of the series without getting injured across both sides. Siraj has bowled a whopping 955 balls in five matches, bowling 159.1 overs at an average of 34.37.

"Mohammed Siraj deserves to put some swim shorts on or a pair of flip flops and go to a beach for a few weeks. It is tiring. The day after, you'd be okay after a series, but four days after you feel really exhausted. Almost like bit of a comedown from the emotion, having to lift yourself up through a series like this, and then you stop and it hits you. You do need a bit of time to recover," Stuart Broad said on Sky Sports Cricket.

On the other hand, former Indian keeper-batter Dinesh Karthik has opened up on the improper scheduling of Tests, adding that there should’ve been more gaps and timelines between each Test as bowlers need to get some time to recover.

"I feel almost everything is right about this series, except the timelines given between Test matches. I know there's a lot more to it and easy for me to say, but even the players, you want someone like Jasprit Bumrah to play. You want Stokes to come back from an injury if possible. I feel its so rushed, sometimes you have very little time to recover physically and mentally. It's been hard fought and a lot of heat to it," Dinesh Karthik told Sky Sports Cricket.
