In the Maharashtra Premier League (MPL 2025) Eliminator match at the MCA Stadium in Pune, Raigad Royals defeated Kolhapur Tuskers by a margin of six wickets. Vicky Ostwal's strong 74 off 54 balls was a major factor in the victory, even though Raigad's victory secured them a position with Puneri Bappa in Qualifier 2. But Ostwal's incredible run-out survival following a collision in the middle of the pitch attracted a lot of attention.
The event happened during a crucial game between Raigad and Kolhapur at Pune's MCA Stadium. Vicky Ostwal of the Royals, who was chasing 165 to qualify for Qualifier 2, was at the centre of an odd sequence that changed the course of the match and potentially the tournament. With Ostwal holding one end, the Royals, who were pursuing 165, were in a strong position. But because of a misunderstanding, his game-winning innings almost ended abruptly. Ostwal struck the ball past the offside and attempted a second run, but he and his partner collided violently mid-pitch, sending both players down.

What transpired, however, was unbelievable. The wicketkeeper caught the fielder's deep throw cleanly, but he tossed the ball back to the bowler without bothering to remove the bails. Ostwal clambered to his feet and hurried back into the crease while Pore, taken by surprise, bungled the return. Rahul Tripathi grabbed the loose ball and ran toward the stumps as he sensed the moment was disappearing, but Pore's hasty throw was unsuccessful. No one was backing up, so Ostwal slid in safely, leaving the Kolhapur players shell-shocked and the Royals' dugout in fits of laughter.
Ostwal took advantage of the lifeline and continued to play an innings that won the match. He hit five fours and a six in his 74. Ankit Bawne led the Kolhapur Tuskers with 57 off 50 balls as they scored 164/7 in their 20 overs earlier in the evening. Tanay Sanghvi (2/32) and Nikhil Kadam (3/35) caused havoc with the ball for Raigad, and Ostwal also contributed with a wicket. In response, Siddhesh Veer (39 off 24) and Niraj Joshi (37* off 22) made sure the Royals completed the goal despite Ostwal's performance.
