During his post-day news conference at Lord's, Jasprit Bumrah, the bowling sensation from India, had a humorous moment. When a phone started ringing on the table, Bumrah, who had just finished a spectacular five-wicket haul and had his name added to the renowned Lord's honours board, responded cleverly.
The event happened while the pacer was interacting with the reporters and answering their inquiries. A phone rang unexpectedly as Bumrah was answering one question, so he picked it up and set it aside. In the middle of the conference, he said, "Somebody's wife is calling. But I will not pick it up, I will leave it that way."
Jasprit Bumrah's Epic Reaction:
On the second day of their third Test, Bumrah was speaking to the media after securing a spot on the Lord's honours board with a five-wicket haul that saw India dismiss England for 387 in their opening innings. He was talking, “Till the time I am wearing this jersey, there will be judgment. Obviously, that’s part and parcel of professional sport. You will always be judged by your performance, day in and day out. When Sachin sir played 200 Test matches, he was also still judged…"

Mid-way through this, a phone call cuts him off, and he says, “Somebody’s wife is calling…but I will not pick it up. I’ve left it that way. Everybody judges…I forgot the question. Professional sport is like that."
As part of his workload management strategy, Bumrah was rested from the second match, which was played at Edgbaston, despite taking five wickets in the series opener last month. With statistics of 5/74, he made a spectacular comeback at Lord's, including a spectacular three-wicket burst on the second morning that saw him quickly dismiss Joe Root, Ben Stokes, and Harry Brook.
