After taking a wicket in Friday's third Test match against England at Lord's, Indian pacer Mohammed Siraj paid respect to the late Diogo Jota, a football player for Liverpool and Portugal. Siraj finished the first innings for England with a score of 2/85 in 23.3 overs. Siraj removed an in-form Jamie Smith, then glanced up at the sky and made a hand sign that read "20," Jota's Liverpool jersey number. Star Sports' official X account included the same video.

The speedster paid a moving homage to Diogo Jota, a football player for Liverpool who died in a terrible automobile accident in Spain on July 3. Andre Silva, his brother, was also killed in the collision when their Lamborghini went off the road and caught fire. When Jota was at Liverpool, he wore the No. 20 jersey.Β Numerous football players have honoured them during games after the news of their passing spread. On Friday, Siraj, who frequently invokes Cristiano Ronaldo's well-known "Siu" celebration after taking wickets, decided to honour Jota and his brother.

Mohammed Siraj's Tribute to Liverpool Star Diogo:

A 109-run third-wicket partnership between Joe Root (104 in 199 balls, with 10 fours) and Ollie Pope (44 in 104 balls, with four boundaries) and a counterattacking eighth-wicket partnership between Jamie (51 in 56 balls, with six fours) and Brydon Carse (56 in 83 balls, with six fours and a six) helped England reach 387/10 in their opening innings.Β Nitish Kumar Reddy (2/62) and Jasprit Bumrah (5/74) also produced with the ball.

Yashasvi Jaiswal smashed three boundaries in eight balls during their opening innings, but India lost the southpaw early. Before being superbly caught by Root off Ben Stokes' bowling, Karun Nair displayed a great deal of guts and commitment. Off 62 balls, the right-handed batter scored 40 runs. After their total was increased by 74 runs, India lost their second wicket.
