Nothing will give me more pleasure than to lift IPL trophy with Virat Kohli: AB de Villiers

Former South African and Royal Challengers Bengaluru batter AB de Villiers has stated that he would make his presence at the venue if the RCB franchise makes it to the IPL 2025 Final this time around.

Furthermore, De Villiers asserted that nothing would give him more pleasure than lifting the elusive IPL silverware with Virat Kohli, who has been part of the franchise for 18 years until now. On the other hand, AB de Villiers had spent 11 seasons with RCB.

The former South African captain played a crucial role, along with Kohli, for the franchise in the last few years. Though the duo failed to take their side to the title win, they had a lot of iconic memories in the cash-rich league.

“Mark my words, if RCB makes it to the final, I will be there at the stadium with the boys. Nothing will give me more pleasure than to lift that trophy with Virat Kohli. I've tried that for many many years,” AB de Villiers said during an Instagram Live session.

Interestingly, RCB is currently holding the pole position on the points table with 17 points from 12 games. Notably, RCB’s game against KKR in the IPL 2025 resumption got abandoned due to heavy rain at the M Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bengaluru on Saturday, May 17.

With RCB almost securing the top two position for the playoffs this time around, we could see the franchise having a good chance of making it to the final. RCB made it to the final three times earlier, but couldn’t get their hands on the silverware. 

The Rajat Patidar-led side are strong favorites to make it to the grand finale this time as well, but would be interesting to watch how they fare in the much-awaited encounter.
