Pakistan’s one-sided defeat to India left me down and depressed: Wasim Akram

Former Pakistani pacer and commentator Wasim Akram has slammed the Pakistani team, led by Salman Ali Agha, for the way they lost to the Indian team by seven wickets in their group stage fixture on Sunday, September 14, in Dubai.

Speaking exclusively on Sony Sports Network, Akram has asserted that he felt down and depressed after seeing the downfall of the Pakistani team as they went down in a one-sided affair against India.

“Of course, we feel like every other Pakistani. We love our cricket, and winning or losing is part of the game. I know that from having played so much for Pakistan. But the way we lost to India, in such a one-sided game, was tough to take. Even today, you could see the players under pressure, with technical faults showing. I’m human too, and at times it does leave me feeling down and depressed,” Wasim Akram said on Sony Sports Network.

Pakistan, after bagging two wins and suffering a defeat to India, secured the second spot in the standings. On the other hand, India, led by Suryakumar Yadav, occupied the pole position in Group A, qualifying for the Super Four stage.

Speaking about the Super Four Stage, India will take on their arch-rivals Pakistan on Sunday, September 21, in Dubai. To make things more interesting, if India and Pakistan dominate the Super Four round and make it to the top two spots, we can see an India vs Pakistan grand finale.
