The Gujarat Titans’ spinner R Sai Kishore has revealed that the Chennai Super Kings skipper MS Dhoni never picks up his phone. He also disclosed that the former Indian captain leaves his phone always in his hotel room and comes for the matches, detaching himself from the world of social media.

Speaking exclusively on the Provoke TV YouTube channel, Sai Kishore asserted that he has learnt to detach from social media from the former Indian skipper. Notably, Sai was part of the CSK set-up in IPL 2019 as a net bowler, while he was roped in by the franchise in IPL 2020 and IPL 2021 seasons.

"I have learnt a lot about this from Dhoni. He would never pick up his phone. He used to leave his phone in his hotel room and come for the games. That's how detached he would be. This inspired me because I used to ask myself if being involved in Social Media is needed. So looking at him inspired me,” R Sai Kishore said on the Provoke TV YouTube channel.

While he couldn't get a chance to play for CSK, he was later drafted by the Gujarat Titans in the IPL 2022 season, and since then, he has played a total of 25 games for the Titans from 2022 to 2025.

Additionally, Sai also talked about the on-field altercation with Mumbai Indians skipper Hardik Pandya in IPL 2025. For the unversed, after bowling a dot to Hardik, Sai gave a stare at the MI all-rounder. In response, the MI captain responded verbally.

"He said, 'Why are you fighting with me? Pick someone else'. It was just in the heat of the moment during a game, which happens. We never take it outside the field of play. He gives me his bat and I've asked him for a new bat saying my bat is broken. He is a very dear friend and he takes great care of everyone. He is a very pure person. He only asked why I fought with him because he knows me very well and we know each other very well," he concluded.
