Former Indian spinner and analyst Ravi Ashwin has stated that the Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) franchise would be eager to rope in the Australian all-rounder Cameron Green in the upcoming IPL 2026 mini-auction, which is scheduled to take place on Tuesday, December 16.
Speaking on his YouTube channel, Ashwin asserted that Green might not fetch INR 30 Crore in the mini auction. Notably, KKR has a hefty purse remaining of INR 64.3 Crore ahead of the mini auction.
"KKR will get Green if they want to, which I think they will. But I don't think him going for ₹30 crore is a possibility. I don't think so. If he goes for 30 crores, then Chennai will be treading on very dangerous waters," Ravi Ashwin said on 'Ash ki Baat' on his YouTube channel.
Furthermore, Ashwin felt that the Rajasthan explosive keeper-batter Karthik Sharma and the Punjab in-form keeper-batter Salil Arora would be hot picks in the auction. He also added that Tushar Raheja would get good bids.
"I think Karthik Sharma and Salil Arora will be very expensive. Whichever team misses one will run after the other between these two. There will be good value for uncapped players in this auction. One more player who will have value is Tushar Raheja,” he added.
Additionally, Ashwin reckoned that the Caribbean all-rounder Jason Holder would be fetching a lot of bids from multiple franchises, thanks to all-round performances in the ongoing ILT20 season in the UAE.
"Jason Holder will have value in this auction. If he will not, then I will be very surprised. He played with me at RR but did not do well and was not picked again. But he is playing for ADKR now in the ILT20 and is doing a fine job. His strength is not bowling at the death. He can give you one over maybe but not two. For ADKR, his performance with the new ball has been fabulous. He has had a great run getting into the ILT20. Holder, apart from what we are thinking, could get a very good value," Ashwin concluded.
