Ravichandran Ashwin surprised the cricket community once more when he announced his intention to resign from the Indian Premier League (IPL) on August 27. He had previously announced his retirement from international cricket in December of last year. Even though the 38-year-old eventually left the league, he is still available to play in international T20 tournaments.

Nevertheless, it's possible that Ashwin won't only play in foreign leagues because, per a Cricbuzz story, the spinner is seeking a player-coach position. Now that he has a good deal of expertise in the shortest format, he is considering expanding his horizons and seizing opportunities in other leagues.

However, Indian spin legend Ravichandran Ashwin has reportedly entered the International League T20 auction, refuting the coaching discussions thus far. According to Cricbuzz, the league organisers have received Ashwin's official application and are finishing up the registration procedure. The auction is set for September 30 in Dubai.

For ILT20, this would be a noteworthy accomplishment. Despite retiring from all forms, Ashwin, 38, is still regarded as one of cricket's most adored players in India, home to the majority of the sport's supporters.

Confirming the development, Ashwin told the website: "I have sent my name for the ILT20 auction. Hopefully, I will have a buyer."

He would be the most well-known player from Indian cricket to play in the West Asian competition if chosen by one of the six teams, five of which are owned by Indian businessmen. Ambati Rayudu, Yusuf Pathan, and Robin Uthappa are among the Indians who have participated in the tournament.

To protect the IPL's market value and uniqueness, the BCCI forbids active Indian male cricket players from playing in T20 leagues around the world. Although he probably might have drawn attention to the Indian tournament for a few more years, Ashwin just announced his retirement from all Indian cricket.
