During the second youth ODI between India Under-19 and Australia Under-19, Vaibhav Suryavanshi, India's teenage batting star, broke Unmukt Chand's record, continuing his quick ascent in the professional ranks. With his performances on his first tour to Australia, Suryavanshi is drawing attention after smashing his first half-century there.

In his forceful cameo against Australia U-19 in the first Youth ODI at Ian Healy Oval, Suryavanshi broke the record by hitting 38 off 22 balls to start India's chase. The series opener saw Abhigyan Kundu (87*) and Vedant Trivedi (61*) form an unbroken 152-run stand after the visitors' quickfire cameo gave them a strong start and ultimately a commanding seven-wicket triumph. John James' 77 was the foundation of Australia's 225, but earlier in the game, India's bowlers had kept the hosts under pressure.

Vaibhav Suryavanshi Reaches New Heights:

The 14-year-old's outstanding innings of 70 (68) was when he was at his most aggressive. After being called in to bat first, India A reached 300 thanks to Suryavanshi, who clobbered five fours and six sixes while he was at the crease. He also broke the record held by former India cricketer Unmukt Chand by recording the most sixes by a batter in Youth ODIs during his knock.

After surpassing Chand's record of 38 sixes, Suryavanshi now has 41 maximums in Youth ODIs. In the first ODI, he had previously struck 38 (22) as India had chased down the 226-run total in 30.3 overs. In addition to having an incredible tour in England this year, Suryavanshi has been quite productive. With 355 runs from five innings at an average of 71 and a century and a half to his credit, he concluded the five-match series as the largest run scorer.
