The International Cricket Council (ICC) announced that the Indian opening batter Rohit Sharma rocketed to the No.1 rank in the newly released ICC Men’s ODI Batting Rankings for the first time in his career.

Interestingly, Rohit moved ahead of his colleague Shubman Gill and Afghanistan top-order batter Ibrahim Zadran to become the No.1 ODI batter. Notably, Rohit scored an unbeaten 121-run knock in the SCG ODI to propel India to a consolation win.
Also, the Indian vice-captain Shreyas Iyer ascended to the ninth rank after his half-century in the second rank. Meanwhile, Ibrahim Zadran also emerged as the No.1 batter during the second and third IND vs AUS ODIs when Gill moved down to the third rank.
Delving into the details of the bowling rankings, Australian ace pacer Josh Hazlewood moved two spots up to the eighth rank, while the spinner, Adam Zampa, surged two ranks up to the 12th rank.
Meanwhile, Indian all-rounder Axar Patel surged six places to the 31st rank, with Washington Sundar achieving 73rd rank, ascending 22 spots.
