Regarding his recently acquired SUV, Akash Deep has received a notification from the Lucknow Regional Transport Office. After returning to India from the recent England tour, where he had achieved great success, Deep purchased the vehicle. Due to unfinished registration procedures, the vehicle was ordered off the road by the notification dated Monday, August 11. Additionally, the vehicle is missing the third registration mark (TRM) and the required high-security registration plate (HSRP). Additionally, Deep has been given a 72-hour notice to appear before authorities.
The report discussed the car that Akash Deep bought on August 7, before obtaining insurance on August 8. On August 9, he was also given a fancy registration number (UP32 QW 0041) for the same. It read, “The RTO discovered that the temporary registration and registration certificate process remained incomplete on the Vahan portal."

The car failed to install the required HSRP and TRM, in violation of Sections 39 and 41(6) of the Motor Vehicles Act of 1988 and Rule 50 of the Central Motor Vehicles Rules of 1989. The authorities revealed, “The notice warns that driving the vehicle in its current state constitutes an offence under Section 192 of the MVA and empowers authorities to seize or detain the vehicle under Section 207."
Within the previously indicated timeframe, Deep must attend the RTO office in Lucknow in person or send an authorised agent. The required paperwork must also be supplied, including the appropriate insurance, tax payment, and registration evidence. The car dealership in the Uttar Pradesh town of Chinhat has also received a show-cause notice from the Lucknow RTO. It is believed that the car dealer has been suspended by the relevant authorities.
Deep played a crucial role in India's arduous 2-2 draw in the 2025 Anderson-Tendulkar Trophy. He bowled 109.1 overs and took 13 wickets in three games. Additionally, he produced a useful 66-run innings in the last Test, which was a major factor in the team's victory at The Oval by six runs.
