Team India keeper-batter Sanju Samson continues to hog the spotlight in the ongoing Kerala Cricket League with his exceptional batting display, scoring 285 runs at an average of 71.25 and a strike rate of 182.69, emerging as the second leading run-scorer of the campaign.
It’s important to note that Samson has scored 21 sixes in four matches - The most by any batter so far in the ongoing competition. Apart from 21 maximums, the Kerala batter has also amassed 22 fours in four innings.
In his team's last game against the Adani Trivandrum Royals, Samson racked up a 37-ball 62-run knock with four fours and five sixes at a strike rate of 167.57 as Kochi Blue Tigers bagged a nine-run win to strengthen their pole position on the table.
Prior to that, Samson scored an 89-run knock from 46 balls against Thrissur Titans with nine sixes. However, his best knock in the ongoing season came against Kollam Sailors, when he scored 121 runs.
Most recently, the former Indian middle-order batter Ajinkya Rahane, on his YouTube channel, has revealed that Samson might miss out on his spot in the playing XI to Shubman Gill, the new T20I vice-captain.
“Shubman is back in the team, I’m sure he is most likely to open with Abhishek Sharma. Personally, I would like to see Sanju Samson in the team because he has done really well. He is a very confident guy, a very good team man, and that is very important," Rahane said on his YouTube channel.
