Former Pakistani cricketer Shahid Afridi has lashed out at the Indian T20I captain, Suryakumar Yadav, for not letting his players shake hands with the Pakistan team after India’s seven-wicket dominant win in Dubai.

Moving into the details, Suryakumar Yadav and Shivam Dube, the unbeaten batters, went back to the dressing room without shaking hands with the Pakistani players. Notably, Pakistani players, including Salman Ali Agha, tried to walk towards the Indian dugout, but none came out to greet them, which didn’t go down well with Afridi.

"When the Asia Cup began, social media was filled with the boycott campaigns ahead of the match between India and Pakistan. Considering there was pressure, it is no surprise that the players and the BCCI were told not to shake hands with our team," Afridi said on Pakistan's Samaa TV.

Furthermore, Afridi also stated that there was no sportsmanship from the Indian players, adding that players should be great ambassadors and not an embarrassment in front of the world.

"In my opinion, there was no sportsman spirit. They would once again be shamed in front of the world. I think our stance was bang on. Our PCB chairman has taken the right stand. Overall, it's outstanding," he added.

"I have always said that players should be great ambassadors and not an embarrassment. I don't want to fault the Indian cricketers; they were given orders from up above," he noted.

Afridi has also asserted that the same Suraykumar shook hands with Pakistan captain Salman Ali Agha and Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) Chief Mohsin Naqvi at the pre-tournament press conference.

"The same Suryakumar Yadav shook hands with Salman Agha and Mohsin Naqvi at the captains' press conference. Now in front of the crowd, the government was not able to handle the social media pressure. Indian players have now become an embarrassment in front of the world," he concluded.
