Punjab Kings finisher Shashank Singh has stated that he would have done the same as the Indian skipper Suryakumar Yadav did to Pakistani players right after India’s seven-wicket win on Sunday, September 14, in Dubai.

Delving into the details, Indian batters, including Suryakumar Yadav and Shivam Dube, decided not to shake hands with Pakistani players after the game. While Pakistan players waited near the Indian dugout, the Indian players shut their dressing room door.

"I think Surya has mentioned it pretty rightly. Like obviously, there are times in life where things are above so many things, like sportsmanship and all. There are things which come above all that. So, I think to an extent, if they felt it, it was right, and maybe because if I were there at Surya's place or Dube's place, I would have done the same, because my country is way above my passion. So, I think what India and BCCI have decided as a team, I think they are pretty right to a great, great extent,” Shashank Singh said to ANI.

After the controversial incident, the PCB and ACC chief Mohsin Naqvi has stated that the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has lodged an official complaint with the International Cricket Council (ICC) to replace the match referee Andy Pycroft from the campaign for violating the ICC Code of Conduct.

"The PCB has lodged a complaint with the ICC regarding violations by the Match Referee of the ICC Code of Conduct and the MCC Laws pertaining to the Spirit of Cricket. The PCB has demanded an immediate removal of the Match Referee from the Asia Cup,” PCB Chief Mohsin Naqvi posted on X.

Interestingly, after the controversial handshake incident, Pakistan captain Salman Ali Agha also decided not to attend the post-match presentation ceremony, which was later revealed by the Pakistan head coach Mike Hesson.
