Shivam Dube can even concede four sixes in an over: Mohammad Kaif

Former Indian batter Mohammad Kaif has stated that Shivam Dube is only a batter and not an all-rounder after India’s 76-run defeat to South Africa in their first Super8 clash of the ICC T20 World Cup 2026, which is currently underway in India and Sri Lanka.

Speaking exclusively on his YouTube channel, Kaif lashed out at Shivam Dube for the defensive tactics used while bowling in the 10th over, adding that he should’ve instead taken the aggressive approach in the middle overs.

"With the field and his plan to bowl wide to Brevis, Dube showed that he wanted to be very defensive. Nobody bowls defensively in the 10th over. You looked to attack and try to take a wicket at that time. According to me, Dube is a batter; he is not an all-rounder,” Kaif said on his YouTube channel.

Additionally, Kaif also went on to state that with Dube bowling at 120 kph, he would even concede four sixes in an over against the West Indies. Notably, India and the West Indies will clash against each other on Sunday, March 1.

"We don't need an all-rounder who bowls at 120 kph. He might take an odd wicket but will always go for runs. He can even concede four sixes in an over against West Indies," he added.

Delving into the details of the Super8 game between India and South Africa, the latter batted first after winning the toss, posting an imposing total of 187/7 in 20 overs, thanks to Dewald Brevis (45), David Miller (63) and Tristan Stubbs (44*). In the chase, India got all out for 111 runs in 18.5 overs, losing the game by 76 runs.
