Following their recent announcement that they had called off their wedding, Indian cricketer Smriti Mandhana and music composer-filmmaker Palash Muchhal have unfollowed one another on Instagram. The couple released separate statements requesting privacy a few days prior to this update.

Pre-wedding festivities had already begun as the couple prepared for their wedding in Sangli, Maharashtra. They became one of the most talked-about celebrity couples this year when pictures and videos from their engagement and Haldi ceremonies went viral on fan pages.

However, due to a medical emergency, Smriti's father was admitted to the hospital on the day of the ceremony, which caused the wedding to be first postponed. Palash was also briefly admitted to the hospital for additional testing shortly after.

Mandhana addressed the rumors about her personal life in public on December 7th, revealing that the wedding had been called off and stressing that her primary concern is still playing cricket for India. She also asked the public and media to respect both families' right to privacy.

Soon after, Palash issued a statement in which he said he had made the decision to "move on" and voiced concern about false information spreading online. He further stated that defamatory remarks made about him on social media would result in legal action.

Once praised by both cricket and music fans, the couple is now keeping quiet about the issue as they move out of the spotlight and keep requesting space.

Fans are excitedly awaiting a lavish wedding in Sangli on November 23, despite the fact that Smriti and Palash kept their relationship mostly under wraps.

Rather, the couple's abrupt breakup has made headlines, and the news has received a lot of attention online. No further information regarding the decision to postpone the wedding has been disclosed, and both families have asked for privacy.
