Indian cricketer Smriti Mandhana’s wedding with the music composer and filmmaker Palash Muchhal has been postponed indefinitely after the opening batter’s father, Srinivas Mandhana, suffered a minor heart attack on the wedding day on Sunday, November 23.

According to the reports, the news was confirmed by Smriti Mandhana’s manager, Tuhin Mishra, who addressed the media on Sunday. According to Mishra, Srinivas suddenly began feeling unwell while having breakfast.

His health worsened in a few minutes. Eventually, the family immediately called for an ambulance and admitted him to a nearby hospital in Sangli, Maharashtra. He is currently under observation.

"In the morning, when he was doing breakfast, Mr. Srinivas Mandhana's health looked in bad shape. We waited a little while, but did not want to take a lot of risk. We called an ambulance and took him to the hospital. He was under observation. And Smriti is very close to her father, so she has decided that until his father gets back on track, the marriage will be postponed indefinitely," Tuhin Mishra told reporters on Sunday.

Furthermore, Mishra also confirmed that since Smriti Mandhana is quite close to her father, she made the decision that until her father’s health improves, the marriage has been postponed indefinitely.

For the unversed, Smriti and Palash had finalised November 23 as the day to tie the knot. Palash had also confirmed that the wedding will be an intimate affair, to be held in Sangli in the afternoon.

Indian women’s cricketers, including Jemimah Rodrigues, Shreyanka Patil, and Shafali Verma, were part of the festivities, as many videos of them went viral on the internet.

In October 2025, Palash, who hails from Indore, while speaking at an event, spoke about his relationship with Smriti. When asked by reporters, he said, “She will soon become the daughter-in-law of Indore... that's all I want to say.”
