Cricket South Africa (CSA) announced South Africa’s 15-man squad for the upcoming ICC T20 World Cup 2026 on Friday, January 2. The tournament is scheduled to start on Saturday, February 6, in India and Sri Lanka.
All-rounder Aiden Markram will continue to lead the 15-man strong squad, which also features Kagiso Rabada and Anrich Nortje, who are coming back from long injury breaks. Notably, Tristan Stubbs and Ryan Rickelton found themselves missing from the squad.
Speaking about the batting line-up, Aiden Markram, Quinton de Kock, Tony de Zorzi, Dewald Brevis, Jason Smith, David Miller, and Donovan Ferreira are part of it. At the same time, Kagiso Rabada, Kwena Maphaka, Anrich Nortje, Lungi Ngidi, and Corbin Bosch form the pace attack.
After missing out on the cricketing action for more than two months with a rib injury, Rabada is all set to return to international cricket. On the other hand, Heinrich Klaasen, who retired from international cricket, Gerald Coetzee, and Tabraiz Shamsi are the other players who missed out on the squad.
Meanwhile, Keshav Maharaj will be the frontline spinner alongside George Linde, and Markram and Ferreira can also roll their arm. South Africa is part of Group D of the campaign along with Afghanistan, New Zealand, Canada, and the UAE.
