Former Indian top-order batter Suresh Raina has revealed his top three batters in T20 cricket currently, as he named one South African player and two Indian star players in his star-studded list.
Raina, while speaking exclusively on Shubhankar Mishra’s YouTube channel, picked the former South African keeper-batter Heinrich Klaasen as the best T20 batter at the moment. Later, he revealed the Indian opening batter Abhishek Sharma and Men In Blue captain Suryakumar Yadav as his other two picks.
"Heinrich Klaasen, Abhishek Sharma, Suryakumar Yadav. Abhishek Sharma hit a hundred against England at Wankhede. Suryakumar Yadav has so many shots in his arsenal," Raina said on Shubhankar Mishra’s YT channel.
It’s important to note that Klaasen retired from international cricket earlier in June this year to focus on T20 leagues across the globe. For the unversed, the former South African explosive keeper-batter was retained by the Sunrisers Hyderabad franchise ahead of the IPL 2025 mega auction as he went on to score 487 runs from 13 innings at an average of 44.27 with a century and a half-century.
Delving into the details of his T20 stats, Klaasen has played 265 T20s, amassing 5927 runs at an average of 31.19 with three centuries and 35 half-centuries at a strike rate of 149.44.
Speaking about Raina’s second pick, Abhishek Sharma has racked up 535 runs in 17 T20Is at a strike rate of 193.84 with two centuries and two fifties. Also, he has amassed 1,816 runs in 77 IPL matches at a strike rate of 163.01, with one century and nine fifties.
Eventually, talking about Raina’s third pick, Suryakumar Yadav has amassed 2,598 runs in 83 T20Is at a strike rate of 167.07, including four centuries and 21 half-centuries. He has also accumulated 4,311 runs from 166 IPL games at a strike rate of 148.65 with two centuries and 29 fifties.
