Indian captain Suryakumar Yadav has finally broken the silence on his poor form in the ongoing calendar year, which has been a major concern for the Indian team ahead of the ICC T20 World Cup 2026 in India and Sri Lanka.

Speaking in the post-match press conference, Surya has asserted that he believes more in what he’s doing in the nets, adding that he has been spot-on with his preparations. Moreover, he added that he is not out of form, but just out of runs.

“I feel that when it comes to form, I believe more in what I’m doing in the nets. How spot-on I am with my preparation is what I really focus on. Once the match starts, everything runs on auto-pilot. So if you’re saying I’m out of form, I don’t think that’s the case — I’m not out of form, I’m just out of runs,” Suryakumar said in the post-match press conference.

“I believe the runs will come if you keep practicing, and with God watching from above, if you keep working hard, everything will fall into place at the right time. It’s happening for others now, who knows what happens next,” he added.

Interestingly, Suryakumar Yadav managed to score only 100 runs from 11 international innings in the shortest format of the game in the ongoing calendar year at an average of 11.11 and a strike rate of 105.26

Delving into the details of the game, Pakistan, after losing the toss, started their innings pretty well in the first 10 overs, but they managed to post a total of only 146 runs in 19.1 overs. While the opening batters Sahibzada Farhan (57) and Fakhar Zaman (46) started off well, it was the star Indian spinner Kuldeep Yadav, who flipped the game’s complexion, with a four-wicket haul.

In response, India were in a bit of bother after losing three quick wickets for 20 runs. However, the middle-order batters Sanju Samson (24), Shivam Dube (33), and Tilak Varma (69*) ensured that India didn’t lose their plot, winning the game by five wickets.
