The dynamic between Steve Smith and Babar Azam in the current BBL 15 season was discussed by Sydney Strikers captain Moises Henriques. Henriques disclosed that the conflict between Babar Azam and Steve Smith took several days to resolve.
When Smith denied Babar a single during the Sixers' game against the Sydney Thunder, tensions between the two increased. After Babar was eventually dismissed for 47, the Pakistani batsman slapped the boundary cushion on his way back to the changing room to show his frustration.
A few days later, video of the two talking about golf surfaced, and Smith affirmed that everything was fine between the two.
"He's good, we chatted before. I thought he batted really nicely the other night, we had a good partnership and put on a few,” he said during a conversation with the broadcasters.
Despite the Sixers' triumph, the problem did not go away quickly; according to one account, Babar made a disturbance in the locker room and felt disrespected.
Smith ensured he kept strike in the Power Surge by turning down the single, and after Babar threw his wicket away in despair, he smashed a century, including four sixes in an over.
Sixers skipper Moises Henriques revealed the specifics of what transpired between Babar and Smith to Fox Cricket when he was microphoned up on the field during the BBL 15 qualifying match.
“It took a couple of days for it to settle down. To be honest, I think it was just a bit of a misunderstanding of cultures. It’s a pretty common thing in our culture, and for him, he wasn’t used to it. Didn’t quite understand. Once it was explained to him, he was absolutely fine. They kissed and made up. I played a role post-game, and so it should be. He was quite upset with what happened on the field. So, we needed to try and understand why he felt that way. So once we got to the bottom of it, it was ok,” Henriques said.

Babar Azam's first trip to the BBL has not been enjoyable. In the qualifying match at Perth Stadium, he was dismissed for a two-ball duck as the Sydney Sixers were bowled out for 99 against the Perth Scorchers. The Sixers lost the game by 48 runs despite Steve Smith scoring 37.
Scorchers were picked to bat first earlier, and they scored 147/9 in 20 overs thanks to Finn Allen's 49 and captain Ashton Turner's 29.
