Team India to earn INR 12.33 Crore despite not making to WTC Final; Here’s how

The Indian team is all set to receive USD 1.44 million (INR 12.33 Crore) despite not making it to the World Test Championship 2025 Final. Notably, South Africa and Australia will lock horns in the grand finale starting on June 11 at Lord’s in London.

While South Africa and Australia finished the WTC League stage in the top two spots in the standings, India could settle for the third rank after failing to create an impact in the latter stages of the league.

Team India, the two-time WTC Finalists, will earn almost the same amount that Australia received after winning the WTC 2023 Final against India. After their win over India in 2023, Australia were awarded a prize money of USD 1.6 million. 

The ultimate winner of the match between South Africa and Australia in the WTC 2025 Final will receive a prize money of USD 3.6 million, while the runners-up will receive more than USD 2.1 million. 

Led by Pat Cummins, Australia will be hoping to defend the WTC title, which they secured by defeating India in the previous final held at The Oval in June 2023. On the other hand, Temba Bavuma's South Africa would be aiming to have their hands on the WTC silverware.
