Mumbai Indians star pacer Trent Boult has opened up on the team’s 100-run win over the Rajasthan Royals in the 50th match of the ongoing IPL season at the Sawai Mansingh Stadium in Jaipur on Thursday, May 1.
While the Mumbai Indians batters posted a dominating total of 217/2 in 20 overs on a tough batting wicket, Trent Boult scalped three important wickets of Yashasvi Jaiswal, Nitish Rana, and Jofra Archer to turn the game towards the Mumbai Indians.
"As a unit, I can't ask for much more than that. It was set up nicely by the batters. 210 was a great score on that wicket. Great all-around performance. There are a lot of combinations there, a lot of experience, and we're doing well. 6 from 6 is great," Trent Boult said in the post-match presentation.
Furthermore, Boult also talked about the importance of momentum and executing plans in the shortest format of the game. Moreover, he also talked about the addition of Jasprit Bumrah, who made a comeback after back injury.
“T20 cricket is about momentum. It's delivering on the plans we've got in place. Lucky enough to have some experience playing here. Always a good challenge, they had a couple of boundary-hitters at the top, and knew they were going to come hard. (On Bumrah) Huge addition to our squad, missed out on a few games early, but he needs no introduction. Job's done well, looking forward to the next one," Boult added.
While Boult scalped three wickets, Karn Sharma also picked up three important wickets. On the other hand, Jasprit Bumrah has pocketed two wickets, with Deepak Chahar and Hardik Pandya picking up one wicket apiece.
Notably, this was the first victory for the Mumbai Indians against the Royals in Jaipur since 2012 after four consecutive defeats.
