As the administration led by Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath constructs a new stadium in Gorakhpur, Uttar Pradesh will soon have its fourth international cricket arena. A 50-acre plot of land in Tal Nadaur has been selected as the possible location for the stadium. The stadium's construction is anticipated to be expedited and is likely to cost INR 236.40 crore.
The stadium's construction will occupy 45 acres of the total site allotted, with the remaining 5 acres set aside for parking and other supporting infrastructure. At roughly 23.6 km from the Gorakhpur airport, 20.8 km from the railway station, and 22 km from Raptinagar Bus Stand, the location is ideal. To improve accessibility, a new road will be built to link the location immediately to the Varanasi-Gorakhpur highway.
Currently, Kanpur and Lucknow hold international cricket matches in Uttar Pradesh, while construction is almost complete on a new stadium in Varanasi. The Gorakhpur stadium, which promises a state-of-the-art venue to draw important games and events, would further strengthen the state's cricketing presence.
New International Cricket Stadium in Gorakhpur:
An official involved in the project stated, as per a Times of India report, "While international matches are currently held in Kanpur and Lucknow, the construction of another stadium in Varanasi is nearing completion, and work on the Gorakhpur International Cricket Stadium will begin soon."
The stadium would be constructed under the Engineering, Procurement, and Construction (EPC) methodology, according to the study. The East and West stands, the North and South Pavilions, the Entry Gates, and the parking lots are a few of the main features. The stadium may have a capacity of 28,980.
The report further claimed, "The stadium will be developed under the Engineering, procurement and construction (EPC) model. The project includes the construction of entry gates, security checkpoints, East and West stands, and North and South pavilions within the stadium complex. Parking facilities will accommodate up to 1,500 vehicles and will be available on the ground floor of both stands. Both the East and West stands will have a seating capacity of 14,490 each, totalling 28,980 seats."
