Suryavanshi had been called for the trials by the Rajasthan Royals in Bagpur. There, batting coach Vikram Rathour gave Suryavanshi a match situation where 17 runs were needed off one over.

IPL trials?

According to Vaibhav's father Sanjeev, Vaibhav hit three sixes off three deliveries and exceeded the expectations of the Royals.

Sanjeev Suryavanshi, Vaibhav's father, was a farmer by profession and sold his farm in Motipur to finance his son's dream of becoming a cricketer. He set up a net in the courtyard of his home where Viabhav would practice right from the age of five.

A unique record

Vaibhav was always head and shoulders above the rest in his age group and his performance spoke volumes about his capability. He is the only cricketer from Bihar to score a double hundred in the U16 tournament.
