On Wednesday, December 17, the International Cricket Council (ICC) announced the latest rankings, with the Indian mystery spinner Varun Chakravarthy strengthening his pole position in the ICC Men's T20I Bowler Rankings with 818 rating points.

He has scalped six wickets across the first three matches of the ongoing T20I series against South Africa, with his spell of 2/11 from four overs in the most recent game in the third T20I in Dharamsala.

Chakravarthy (818 rating points) now holds a 119-point advantage over the second-ranked New Zealand seamer Jacob Duffy (699). Also, the left-arm pacer Arshdeep Singh moved up four places to 16th overall on the rankings for T20I bowlers.

Also, India now has two players inside the top five on the rankings for T20I batters, with Tilak Varma gaining two spots to move to fourth overall after a trio of decent innings against South Africa. Furthermore, Abhishek Sharma continues to be at the top of the batters' rankings.

Pakistan batting all-rounder Saim Ayub has a narrow lead at the top of the rankings for T20I all-rounders despite not playing any international matches across the last week, with India's Shivam Dube the big mover on this list as he rocketed two places to the 16th spot.

In the Test rankings, Black Caps' left-handed opening batter Devon Conway (up seven spots to 34th) makes gains on the list for Test batters, while teammate Jacob Duffy (up 15 places to 48th) makes good ground for Test bowlers following his six wickets and Player of the Match performance at Basin Reserve.

Australian pacer Mitchell Starc moved up to a career-best ranking of second spot. In the list for Test all-rounders by Roston Chase was up one place to 30th, and Justin Greaves was up one spot to 31st rank.
