According to reports, Indian cricket player Virat Kohli and actor Anushka Sharma paid a hefty price for real estate in Alibaug. The celebrity pair, who were spotted traveling to the seaside region during their brief visit last month, have apparently finalized their lavish new vacation, according to the most recent sources.
According to sources on LiveMint, the actress and her husband, a cricket player, paid an estimated Rs 37.86 crore for a 5.1-acre tract of land, according to property registration documents.
Sonali Amit Rajput, a director of Samira Land Assets Pvt. Ltd., is said to have sold the land block to Kohli and Anushka, which is situated in Zirad village. According to data analytics company CRE Matrix, the sale, which apparently covered two adjacent plots, was filed on January 13.
The couple's second significant investment in Alibaug is this multi-crore deal. In two different transactions totalling Rs 19.24 crore, Sharma and Kohli purchased roughly eight acres from real estate developer Samira Habitats in 2022. On that property, they have since built an opulent vacation house.
Virat Kohli’s brother Vikas completes formalities and paperwork
About Rs 2.27 crore in stamp duty was paid. According to the article, Vikas Kohli, Virat's brother, finished the paperwork on his behalf. This occurs months after the pair allegedly gave him a General Power of Attorney (GPA) to oversee his assets in the nation, including his Rs 80 crore residence in Gurugram.
The article at the time stoked rumors that the couple and their kids, Akaay and Vamika, would relocate permanently to the UK.
Alibaug has drawn more and more well-known celebrity purchasers in recent years. In 2021, actors Deepika Padukone and Ranveer Singh paid over Rs 22 crore for an opulent property in Mapgaon. According to reports, Anushka and Virat's latest acquisition is ten kilometers away from the property.
A 4-acre site in the region is allegedly owned by fellow Indian cricket captain Rohit Sharma, who bought it in 2021 under his wife Ritika Sajdeh's name.
