“Thank you for making my job easier at No.4” - Virat Kohli posts a heartfelt Instagram story for Cheteshwar Pujara

Former Indian skipper and talismanic batter in the top and middle-order, Virat Kohli, has come up with a heartfelt message for Cheteshwar Pujara, who recently announced his retirement from all forms of Indian cricket on Sunday, August 24.

Kohli took to his official Instagram handle to put up a story, thanking Pujara for making his job easier at No. 4 in the longest format of the game. He also congratulated the No.3 batter on an exceptional red-ball career.

"Thank you for making my job easier at 4 pujji. You've had an amazing career. Congratulations and wish you the best for what's ahead. God bless @cheteshwarpujara," Kohli posted on his Instagram story.

Notably, Pujara accumulated 7,195 runs from 103 Tests at an average of 43.60, registering 19 centuries and 35 half-centuries. While he made his international debut against Australia in October 2010, his last international game also came against Australia in June 2023.

“As a little boy from the small town of Rajkot, along with my parents, I set out to aim for the stars and dreamt to be a part of the Indian cricket team. Little did I know then that this game would give me so much - invaluable opportunities, experiences, purpose, love, and above all, a chance to represent my state and this great nation,” Pujara wrote on his Instagram handle while announcing his retirement. 

“Wearing the Indian jersey, singing the anthem, and trying my best each time I stepped on the field - it's impossible to put into words what it truly meant. But as they say, all good things must come to an end, and with immense gratitude, I have decided to retire from all forms of Indian cricket,” he added.
