Former Indian opening batter and commentator Virender Sehwag has opened up on the Indian batting order collapse against Bangladesh in the Super Four clash on Wednesday, September 24, in Dubai.

Speaking exclusively on Sony Sports Network, Sehwag slammed the Indian skipper, Suryakumar Yadav, for getting Abhishek Sharma run out and losing his wicket quickly a few balls later. Moreover, he talked about Hardik Pandya’s slow knock.

"It wasn't his mistake today, but only after his run-out, the fours and sixes were reduced, and no one scored runs. Suryakumar Yadav got out himself and got him run out. After that, no one's bat was striking the ball. Even if we see Hardik Pandya, he scored 38 runs off 29 balls," Sehwag said on Sony Sports Network.

"When he bats well, he scores 50-60 runs off 29 balls. Axar Patel was unfortunate. His only job should have been to give more strike to Hardik Pandya, but he also could score only 10 runs off 15 balls. We all thought that 190-200 runs would be scored, but they didn't reach there," he added.

Moreover, Sehwag also talked about the Indian pace spearhead Jasprit Bumrah, who looked in exceptional touch, scalping two wickets for 18 runs in his four-over spell. On the other hand, he conceded 45 runs against Pakistan in his four-over spell, having a one day off.

"We spoke about Bumrah needing top-order wickets. Bumrah took the first wicket and showed that he is Bumrah and that he can have an odd off-day. Once he comes into rhythm, it's difficult to play him. He dismissed two batters while conceding 18 runs," he said.

"Then Kuldeep Yadav bowled strongly in the middle overs. He picked up three wickets while conceding 18 runs. Varun Chakaravarthy was expensive in his first over in the powerplay for sure, but he too made a comeback and dismissed two batters. The Indian bowlers bowled very intelligently. If the catches had been taken, the match might have ended slightly early," Sehwag concluded.
