When terrible light affected the third Test at The Oval while Sri Lanka was batting in their first innings, England's pacer Chris Woakes became an offspinner. As a result, this set off a chain of events where everyone was confused by the abrupt change and the discovery of a pacer bowling in a different avatar. A video of Nasser Hussain has gone viral on the internet.

Reactions went viral after Joe Root, a regular and former England captain, thought it was funny that his buddy was settling for non-traditional bowling, where he wasn't very skilled. This was not the end of it. Ben Stokes, the injured usual captain of the Test team, was seen shell-shocked and in complete disbelief in the balcony area after witnessing a front-line bowler forced to bowl spin.

Nasser Hussain's hilarious reaction:

A well-known commentator and former captain Nasser Hussain's response, however, took the world by surprise when it went viral off the field like a wildfire in a jungle. Notably, Michael Atherton, a different former England cricket player, verified the funny incident that took place inside the commentary box while he was commentating live. The Woakes bowling spin moment came as a "bolt from the blue" to Hussain, who was also on air, and he almost fell off his chair.

Nasser was in the commentary box when he nearly toppled over. Atherton informed the audience about the humorous incident live saying, "The impact of Chris Woakes' off-spin." But it wasn't immediately after that that Nasser Hussain fell out of his chair. Atherton's crafty trick during the Test, which involved the latter believing that Woakes' peculiar bowling ability was having a strange effect on him, provided a humorous scene.

Speaking about the match, on Day Two of the third Test, England finished their first innings with 325 runs. With a brilliant century (154 off 156 runs) that set the tone for the squad and helped the hosts to a reasonable total, Ollie Pope, the team's acting captain, emerged as the best batsman. Pope, in particular, came under fire for failing to score runs after taking on leadership duties in Stokes' absence.

In spite of this, England won the first two Tests of the current Test series against Sri Lanka with considerable ease. After two early blows from Ben Duckett and Ollie Pope, with the score at 35/2, England is now leading by 97 runs in the eighth over of the second innings. England's pacers got the initiative and promptly finished up Sri Lanka, bundling the visitors for 263 runs early in the morning.
